Controlling Your Notifications

Yodel sends you notifications about your account, received or sent messages, your groups, and other aspects of our services. Through your account notification preferences, you can control what notifications you get and how you receive them.

Notification Methods

For each type of notification you can set your preference on how to receive it. In most cases you can select or deselect from these notification channels:

Depending on the type of notification, you may opt to select more than one notification method or none at all — though web alert is almost always on.

Notification Types

Yodel tries to keep you notified about activity related to your account, messages, groups, and about Yodel's services. Here are the key types of notifications that we may send you:

Why Can't Some Options be Changed?

In some cases, it doesn't make much sense to be able to turn off a certain type of notification channel.

Web alerts are on for almost everything, because you can get those via real-time, on-screen display while using Yodel's services.

Email is another notification channel that sometimes needs to be on. Your Yodel account is created with an email address, so notification of your newly created account and verification of your email address needs to use email. Billing information needs to include an email notification as written documentation.

Setting yourself as a "sole recipient" on one of your receiving addresses, requires a postcard to be sent to that address, so allowing that to be turned off would defeat the purpose.

Why Are Some Options Marked N/A?

Your notification preferences page has some channels marked as "not applicable" (N/A). This is used where the notification method would not make sense or is otherwise not supported by Yodel.

Setting yourself as a "sole recipient" on one of your receiving addresses, requires a postcard to be sent to that address so postcard delivery is the only option. All other notification methods are listed as N/A.

Most notification types are marked as N/A for the postcard method because Yodel's business practices are to minimally use postal mail. It must be used for verification of "sole recipients" and we allow it as a preference for receiving messages sent to your locations.

Unsubscribing from All Notifications

You can learn more about unsubscribing from Yodel notifications on our help document that covers that topic.

Unsubscribing will disable all notifications EXCEPT for core Yodel messaging required to maintain your account. Notifications will still show online while using the Yodel website. If you'd like to end all communication from Yodel, you will need to delete your account on your profile page.
