Sending Messages as an Individual or Group
Sending messages through Yodel allows you to get your message out to specific, local geographic audiences by simply drawing on a map. Yodel allows you to send messages as an individual (yourself), or you can create a sending group to send as a business, company, organization, or other entity. You also have the option of sending as a combination of the two.
Sending as an Individual
When you register a free account with Yodel, you should do so with your real name and enter your primary residency so that you get the benefit of controlling local messages that you receive.
Any registered user has the ability to send and receive messages through Yodel.
When you select to use yourself as the sender of a message, your name will be seen within the communication by your selected audience. The receivers of the message will not be able to see your contact information such as email, phone, or your primary address unless you explicitly add it to the message itself. Any reactions or replies from your audience to messages that you send as an individual will be sent to you through Yodel and per your notification preferences.
Sending as a Group
Any registered user is able to create one or more sending groups. This can allow you to control the name of the sender as it appears to your selected audience. This is ideal for businesses and organizations who wish to use a group name as the sender.
As a group, you can also add a representative image, such as a logo, and display a public website URL that your audience can see.
A group can have multiple members with various roles. You can invite members to join your group, or if you share your Group Code with someone, they can request access to join.
When you select a sending group as the sender of a message, your personal name is not shown to your audience. The receivers of the message will only see the group information. Any reactions or replies from your audience to messages sent by the group will be sent to group owners or admin through Yodel and per each members' notification preferences.
Sending as a Combined Individual on Behalf of a Group
This option works mostly like sending as a group, as described above. However, in this option the sender's name is shown to the receiving audience as their individual name followed by the group's name in parentheses. The group's logo image and website will still be shown if applicable.
