Understanding Recipient Filtering
After you've created your audiences through addresses and areas, you are set to reuse these for future mailings. But you have an additional option with recipient filtering per message send that can reduce your audience size and save you money on the total cost to send your message.
Default to All Recipients
While creating your message, you'll select your pre-existing audiences, and by default the message will be set to send to all recipients. Due to this default setting, you may see an initial estimate pop up as soon as your audience has been chosen.
This default will use all known mailing addresses within your selected audiences, including sub-units such as apartments and suites. Residential, business, and other or unknown-type addresses will be included in the message send. This option maximizes your total recipients.
Residential Only
If you change your recipient filtering setting to "residential only", as you would expect, Yodel will filter out any business or other/unknown address types. Perfect for business-to-consumer (B2C) messages.
If your message is geared toward families or general consumers, then this is a great way to make sure you don't send anything to unwanted corporate or organizational recipients.
Businesses Only
For some senders, a corporate audience may be your desired group. This option is perfect for business-to-business (B2B) promotions. Depending on the sending area, this is often the most limiting option and will reduce your recipient account significantly, reducing your cost to send.
