I'm Having Trouble Responding to a Sender
When you receive a message through Yodel, you have the ability to respond to the sender via either a reaction (like or dislike) or by typing a short custom reply. By default these responses are anonymous, though you can optionally include your name or contact information in your written reply.
If you are unable to respond to a sender, consider the information below.
Ensure Your Yodel Account is in Good Standing
In order to use the response tools available through Yodel, you need to create a free account. Once that account is created, you should be able to respond with reactions or written replies to any messages that are shown in your receiving list.
You may not be able to respond if your account is in a non-active state such as being blocked or archived. You can check your account status by viewing your profile page.
Simple Reaction is Not Applied
When you've used the like or dislike reaction on a received message, it should immediately be saved. When you return to the message, it should still indicate the reaction you gave.
If you return to the message and your reaction has not been saved, there may have been an error during your attempt. Most likely, this was a one-time error and if you try again it should save your reaction.
Make sure you allow some time for the information to be sent to our severs before navigating away from the page.
If you continue to have issues while trying to react to a message, reach out to our support team by using our contact form.
Written Reply Limitations
When typing a reply to a sender, Yodel intentionally limits the amount of characters you can enter. The reply will be plain text, so there is no formatting or linking allowed in the reply text.
Only a single reply is allowed per user per message. After you have replied to a message, you'll notice that you can only view your previously sent reply. This is to prevent abuse of the system.
Written Reply Errors
If you receive an error message while trying to send a reply, the error message itself should give an indication as to what went wrong.
If you sent a reply but when returning to the message it does not indicate that you had, then there may have been an issue saving your reply. Most likely, if you try again it will work. However, if you continue to have issues, reach out to our support team by using our contact form.
